Droid Does Times Square

By the end of October, we reported that starting the day the new Motorola Droid launched, Verizon and Google in partnership with Reuters and R/GA would roll out a “first-of-its-kind” interactive campaign in Times Square, New York. Well now, when someone calls 888-376-4336 between 12:30-2:00pm, and between 6:30-8:00pm and does a Google Search by voice, the results from Google are automatically displayed on the electronic Reuters and NASDAQ signs in Times Square.

Google just announced today on the Official Google Mobile Blog that this Black Friday, the “Droid Does Times Square” campaign will run for 20 hours straight. I’m not a fan of Black Friday at all, but this will sure make it more fun to be at Times Square this Friday. This is how it works: when you call the number above and do a Google Search by voice of any product, the billboards will display a giant Google Map with signs and details of where you can find that item. Google and Verizon have even set up a webpage with a countdown to the event.
