Spotify Application Goes Live, Not Available in US App Store Yet

September 6th, 2009 Posted in Technology by Eric

iPhone SpotifyGood news for European Spotify users. The iPhone/iPod Touch version of the streaming music application has gone live on the European Apple App Store. Of course, the application is not yet available in the US App Store because the service itself hasn’t even gone live here.

The application is only available to those who subscribe to Spotify’s premium service. If you’re not a premium subscriber, well, you’re out of luck for now.

What’s shocking about this whole thing is Apple’s lenience in allowing Spotify go right through the “metal detector”, if you will. So long as the Spotify app stays only available to premium subscribers, we don’t anticipate any issues.

I know many of you are dying to experience Spotify. We at Erictric were given special press access this summer, and we’ve been using it nearly everyday. It’ll absolutely be worth the wait for all of you music lovers.

Here’s the link to the iTunes listing.
