Sony Getting Involved in Netbook Market

July 7th, 2009 Posted in Technology, World by Eric

sonyvaioSony has announced today that they are planning to sell a Vaio netbook in Japan next month for roughly 60,000 Yen, or $629 USD. The netbook is expected to run Windows XP, contain an Intel Atom processor, and a screen resolution of about 1,366 x 768 pixels – larger than most popular netbooks.

Currently, it’s unknown as to when and if the netbook will hit the global market.

Netbooks have become extremely popular within the last year among the tech community, though many have doubts about when to buy one and if they’re getting their money’s worth, something I wrote about not long ago.

More information as it becomes available.
