Push Gmail for the Palm Pre
June 5th, 2009 Posted in Technology by Eric
Back in April, we wrote about delay of messages to Blackberry devices. We asked who was to blame – whether it was Gmail or Blackberry. The fact of the matter is; it doesn’t matter. Why? Simple, the Palm Pre now has “push” capabilities with Gmail, unlike its Blackberry and iPhone counterparts. The information comes from a Google blog, located here. In a nutshell, “push” means that messages are usually delivered directly to the device seconds after they are sent, as opposed to Blackberry and iPhone checking at set intervals – resulting in message delivery delays of 15-20 minutes.
This hopefully will set the standard for Research in Motion and Apple. People want their mail, right away!
