OS 5.0 for BlackBerry Storm 9530 to be Released on October 25th
Original BlackBerry Storm users, rejoice! It looks like this Sunday, your BlackBerry Storm 9530 will be updated to OS 5.0, version 5.0.0.328 to be more specific. As you can see in the image above and the screenshot below, the update will not be available OTA. Users will have to plug their BlackBerry Storm to their PC and download the new OS by going to www.BlackBerry.com/storm/updates or if you’re the patient kind you can wait until BlackBerry Desktop Manager notifies you of the new update.

I just really hope this update improves the lagging and freezing, as that is my only problem with my BlackBerry Storm 9530. Although unlikely, you have to take into account that things can always change and there might be an issue at the last minute which could prevent the update from being released. We’ll update you as soon as we get it.
