Kindle 2 Firmware Update 2.3 Now Available

November 25th, 2009 Posted in Technology by Bertrand

Amazon Kindle 2Just yesterday, we reported that Amazon would be releasing a firmware update for its newest ebook reader, the Kindle 2. The update was said to bring PDF support and prolong battery life. Well, fast-forward 24 hours and the update is available now for all Kindle 2 units. Kindle 2 owners are supposed to get the update OTA [over-the-air], but it can also be manually downloaded from Amazon.com.

Unfortunately, owners of the first generation Kindle don’t get any treats today. Their software, which currently is version 1.2, will be updated soon to offer PDF support.

For more information and instructions on how to download the update 2.3 for the Kindle 2, visit the Amazon.com Help page.
