Google Expected to Unveil New YouTube Look and Showcase YouTube 3D Tonight
Earlier today, we posted some information about a Google event taking place in San Francisco. From what we knew, this event was expected to focus on Chrome OS, but it seems as if there’s more to tonight’s event at 6 PM. According to TechCrunch, the Front End Engineering Open House (as the event is called) will feature “presentations on Google Maps and Chrome OS, YouTube will be unveiling their new look and showcasing YouTube 3-D.”
Did you get the last portion of that sentence? YouTube will be unveiling their new look and showcasing YouTube 3D!? Of course, let’s not confuse things by saying that the new look or the 3D version of the world’s most popular video sharing site will go live tonight, because it’s not.
At this point, we know about as much as you do with regard to this event. To make matters worse, Google has banned the press from attending, which doesn’t make this very much of an “open house.”

I don’t think Youtube 3d is a new thing, its already real and deployed on Youtube and has for a while.

@antimatter15: It was a test, initially. Only certain videos had it (not sure if they still do). But this sounds like something a bit more mainstream, now.
