Google Reader Adds Favicon Support to Subscriptions
Because distinguishing RSS feeds is so hard just by reading them, Google has announced on an Official Google Reader Blog post that today they are introducing the option to add favicons to your RSS subscriptions. The new feature becomes reality thanks to users who suggested it and voted for it.
Considering that many and mostly heavy users won’t want to look at a bunch of eye-straining colors everywhere, the feature is opt-in, and it can be enabled in the subscriptions drop-down menu.
Former Google team member and Thing Labs founder Jason Shellen recently tweeted that favicons support has been in the roadmap since 2005.
What do you think of this new feature? Will you be using it from now on instead of the default blue RSS icons?
