Google Improves Gmail ‘Undo Send’ Feature

gmail-undo-send

Gmail’s ‘undo send’ feature is perhaps the most useful of all features in Gmail Labs, and it’s just gotten a little bit better. Initially starting off with an ‘undo’ period of a mere five minutes, Google has extending periods for which users can select to time how long it takes before the message really goes out.

Users can now select time periods of 5, 10, 20, of 30 seconds in which they can ‘undo’ a message, you know, just in case they send something that don’t really mean to send.

The possibilities are endless, and you too can enable the feature in Gmail by visiting the ‘Labs’ menu.

Apple’s MobileMe is now offering subscribers the opportunity to join a “mail beta” program on the service, according to various reports from users.

Quite interestingly, the beta will take you to a page with an interface nearly identical to that of the iPad’s default mail client, signaling that Apple may be attempting to unify interfaces between devices.

According to TUAW, features include:

  • The ability to have both widescreen and compact views.
  • Rules to help keep mail organized on any device you use MobileMe. Note that any rules set up on the beta may override rules already in place on OS X Mail, so disable duplicate rules on your Mac before giving this a test drive.

Apple Posts iPad Guided Tours for Your Viewing Pleasure

There are only a few days left before the iPad is officially released to the public on April 3. Apple has already begun shipping the iPad units to those who order it as soon as it was available for pre-order, and informed us that the iPad will be available at various Best Buy stores nationwide. But now, the Cupertino-based company has just surprised us all by posting a new set of several iPad guided tour videos. This is great because while we have all seen plenty of iPad photos, we have rarely seen the device in action.

Besides viewing pleasure, the videos give you a thorough walkthrough of many core applications that will be found on the iPad out of the box including Safari, iBook, iTunes, Mail, Photos, iPod, Videos, et cetera.

All of the videos are available to watch on the iPad Guided Tours page. Additionally, you can watch all of the videos after the break.
