Ebay Acquires Barcode-Scanning Application for iPhone RedLaser

San Jose, California-based Ebay announced today in a press release its acquisition of popular barcode-scanning application for iPhone RedLaser. The application was purchased for an undisclosed amount of money from Boulder, Colorado-based startup Occipital. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
RedLaser was created back in 2009. Ever since, the application has been adopted by more than 2 million iPhone owners. Ebay revealed its plans to integrate the RedLaser barcode-scanning technology into its eBay Marketplace, eBay Selling, StubHub, and Shopping.com iPhone applications. However, RedLaser will remain as an independent application. It will now be available for free, compared to its previous $1.99 price.
The company also made it known that RedLaser will now include more than 200 million listings from eBay and product inventory from over 7,000 global merchants on Shopping.com. Ebay will put more developers to work on RedLaser in the near future.

Google I/O Developers Resell HTC EVO 4G Devices From Google on eBay

Surprise, surprise. It would appear as if many of the developers who were given an HTC EVO 4G by Google at last week’s Google I/O conference have quickly turned around and have commenced a mass resale of the device on popular auction website eBay.
As expected, many of the sellers are posting ‘Buy it Now’ prices ranging from $600-$1200 — which also includes 30 days of unlimited Sprint service, apparently. Not surprisingly, potential buyers are bidding on the device, seemingly impatient for the June 4th release day.
T-Mobile MyTouch Slide Now Available on eBay

A whole three weeks prior to making its official debut, the T-Mobile MyTouch Slide is now available for purchase on popular auction website eBay. Starting bid is $750.00, with a ‘Buy It Now’ price of a whopping $1,200.00, so it certainly won’t come cheap to get a little pre-release goodness.
We can’t exactly confirm the validity of the unit, nor can we say how the seller obtained it, but here are the exact words of the seller on the auction page:
BRAND NEW EXCLUSIVE MYTOUCH SLIDE FROM T-MOBILE , PHONE IS THE BEST ANDROID DEVICE THAT HAS EVER LAUNCHED . . . .
