BlackBerry Bold 9780 Imaged In The Wild, Running BlackBerry OS 6.0
Behold! It would appear as if one of Salomondrin‘s trusty sources has sent over fresh images of a BlackBerry Bold 9780 smartphone by Research In Motion. By the looks of the image sent in, the device is running BlackBerry OS 6.0, which pretty much confirms that we should be seeing BlackBerry OS 6.0 running on non-touchscreen devices — a sure relief for many.
That said, all that is known about what is inside this little guy is that it’s packed with 512MB of flash memory — and that’s about all.
When/if more information becomes available, we’ll pass it along.
BlackBerry Slider Seen On Video

The almost-mythical BlackBerry Slider has been the topic of a few posts here at Erictric. Is it real, is it fake? Ultimately, that’s up to you to decide — but another bit of evidence has popped up, and it’s damning. That’s because the BlackBerry Slider has apparently been caught on video — footage obtained from mobile blog BGR.
The quality of the footage is surprisingly good, and if this doesn’t prove the BlackBerry Slider isn’t existent, we don’t know what will. The device, as we’ve noted previously, is running BlackBerry OS 6.0, and appears to be a part of the Bold family of BlackBerry devices, according to the back of the unit (as shown in the video).
Check it out after the break.
Research In Motion Promotes BlackBerry OS 6.0 on Video

Yesterday, Research In Motion announced that its newest BlackBerry OS 6.0, also known as BlackBerry 6, will make its big debut in the next quarter. The new operating systems appears to be very promising and up to par with other popular mobile platforms such as Android and iPhone. With that Said, RIM has uploaded a promotional video to YouTube showcasing the many functions that the new OS will bring.
The video moves really fast, barely giving us a glimpse of every feature. Although, you can spot the much-awaited BlackBerry WebKit Web Browser along with Facebook and Twitter applications, a Cover Flow music organizer, and more.
In the video, things are moved and controlled via touch. However, we know that BlackBerry 6 will also support devices with optical trackpads.

BlackBerry OS 6 Arriving Next Quarter

Freshly announced, Research In Motion’s co-chief executive Mike Lazaridis announced the coming of BlackBerry OS 6.0, or BlackBerry 6, as it is now dubbed. Lazaridis notes that the operating system will be available “in the next calendar quarter,” which of course are the months of July, August, September — or this summer.
While the tech world doesn’t know too much about the mobile operating system, we did get a brief look at it one week ago today. Of course, we’re in no place to talk about what features we’ve seen will make it in or out, but we’re just as excited as you are.
More on this topic as information becomes available.

BlackBerry OS 6.0 Screenshots Emerge

Fanatics of BlackBerry in its entirety will be quite pleased this Tuesday morning. That’s because screenshots (courtesy of BGR) of BlackBerry OS 6.0 have emerged, and boy do they look good.
For starters, OS 6.0′s web browser has been massively revamped. Built on WebKit, it’s now multitouch-capable, includes new favoriting, and tab switching (screenshot after the break). The media player (as seen above) has also been heavily modified, now showing what we’ve come to know as “coverflow” (as perfected by Apple).
With regard to features, Research in Motion is including kinetic scrolling (as seen on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad). Multitouch is enabled throughout most of the operating system, and much like Apple’s mobile devices, pinch-to-zoom is more than available.
BlackBerry OS 6.0 Screenshots Leaked?

What you’re looking at could very well be Research In Motion’s BlackBerry OS [operating system] version 6.0. The shots come courtesy of BBLeaks, who state that the shots are “highly regarded as real from one of our best connects.”
It could very well be legitimate shots of the work-in-progress OS 6.0, however, portions of the shots are composed of images that were taken from the “Super Apps” webinar in February — images that RIM says were nothing but mockups.
It’s certainly interesting, and with the coming of RIM’s very own BlackBerry Slider next month, hopes are seemingly higher than low at this time.
We’ll let you make up your own mind on this one.
