Does Google Prefer Internet Explorer And Firefox Over Its Own Chrome Browser?

It appears Google wants people to use Internet Explorer and Firefox instead of its own browser, Google Chrome. When you try to download the big and ugly Google Toolbar, the following message greets you on the download page [see image above]:
We’re sorry, but Google Toolbar 5 is only available for Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Is this a huge mistake? Definitely not a good thing for Google.

lets be realistic. Google and its developers/open source community will be most likely incorporating the functionality of this toolbar in to its chrome browser as we have seen with the omnibar.

err err I concur, Is the Toolbar that brings a lot of the features to IE and Firefox really necessary for a browser that utilizes the feature set already? I was always under the impression that the toolbar is for people that do not want to use Chrome still having some of the Google features.
Also the toolbar would be a slap in the face for a browser that prides itself on its minimalism and lack of overhead (literally)

Google already can spy on your browsing with Chrome, so adding the toolbar would be redundant.

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.
