Google Health, launched last May, is now trying to help you by allowing you to upload scanned medical documents for organizational purposes. All of this, of course, is to be stored in a safe, secure environment. Among the uploading of delicate medical information, you’ll also be able to upload an “advace directive,” which essentially will allow you to declare your after-life wishes, in the event you become unable to communicate.

Google is working with Caring Connections, an advance directive provider, for a customized advance directive form for all of our Nation’s states.

Is this really necessary?

Well, no – not really. But while this is interesting, Google’s march into all fields and industry is causing concern for some. Of course, where there is legitimacy, there is also conspiracy theory.

A step in the wrong direction?

The answer varies from person-to-person. Of course, this is a great advancement (and help to some), but mentioned previously, there are many who think Google is simply attempting to harvest information (which is likely not the case at all).
