Twitter Maintenance Outage Display

Twitter has announced on the Twitter Status page that its services might go down intermittently this evening. The partial outage is expected to begin on Saturday, July 31 at 11:00 PM Pacific Time — Sunday, August 1 at  2:00 AM Eastern Time. It should last up to five hours.

Twitter explains that the down time will be caused due to the fact that its hosting provider, NTT America, will be upgrading a portion of the Twitter internal network. Everytime the service goes down, the image above will be displayed. The image will be linked to the Twitter Status page, which will offer the latest updates on the progress of the maintenance.
