Cupertino-based Apple is now allowing developers to purchase spots within its iAd advertising platform to advertise their own applications.
Apple notes on the iAd page on its website:
iAd for Developers. A great way to promote your applications.
You can now purchase iAd advertising to promote your app to millions of users across the iAd Network. With iAd for Developers, users can download apps from the App Store without leaving the app they’re in. It’s easy to get started, contact us today and learn how you can drive more downloads of your app with iAd for Developers.
iAd was launched at the beginning of this month. However, only big major companies such as Nissa, Disney, and Dove were able to advertise through iAd due to the extremely high price. Even though it’s currently unknown how much developers will have to pay to promote their applications, they will have the opportunity to reach more users.
