HTC Droid Incredible to Receive Froyo Update in Early August or Before

Rumors have been circulating of an imminent update for the popular HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon Wireless, and things have gotten more interesting today. Even though we originally heard an update was being pushed to Droid Incredible units this past weekend, it appears now that the device might be updated to Android 2.2 [Froyo] as early as this month or early August. It seems though as the update was going to be originally released in two separate MRs, but it’s now a single one.
An alleged email from HTC reveals the following information:
We are targeting the end of the month/first part of August. As a reminder, below are the highlights:
- Froyo
- 802.11 n
- 3G Mobile Hot Spot
- HTC Widget: Email
- HTC Widget: News
- EAS Updates
- 720p Video Recording
- Amazon MP3
- Skype
- My Verizon
It’s very likely that the update that began rolling out this weekend will be or has already been stopped. Do take this information with a grain of salt, as we cannot confirm the validity of these claims. If true, this update will bring several welcomed features to existing Droid Incredible owners. We will definitely keep our eyes and ears open for additional information, and will update as soon as we learn more.

Hey all simply found the positioning and thought I might say hello. I like lots of you’re ready for my Unimaginable to be shipped. I ordered it on-line on 6/9 and so they keep telling me it will ship this Wednesday 6/30. Fingers crossed that it does this waiting is killing me!
