Mobile Web Users In China Soon To Surpass US Population

A new report published by eMarketer projects that by the end of 2010, there will be more mobile web users in the People’s Republic of China than individuals in the United States.

As it currently stands, the United States’ population is in the neighborhood of 308.9 million, whereas China’s population exceeds 1.3 billion individuals. That’s a boatload of people, and a whole lot of them are using mobile phones. Not only mobile phones, but mobile web.

Put the puzzle together and you’ll find that by the end of this year, over 310 million mobile web users exist in China. That is an incredible figure. But wait, there’s more.

The aforementioned report expects the amount of mobile web users in China to surpass 957 million, with 1.3 billion mobile subscribers by the year 2014.
