Apple Working on New App Dubbed ‘iGroups’

Uncovered from the depths of the USPTO by Patently Apple is a new patent application filed by Apple for a new social application dubbed ‘iGroups’.
It is expected the iGroups will tie in with both iPhone and MobileMe to make it possible for users of the application to share information with others in the vicinity of sporting, musical, or various other events. Grouping users around said events is powered by GPS.
Given that Apple is potentially more secretive than any other company we’ve ever known, it’ll certainly be a mission to find out what exactly will happen with iGroups — though we would expect to be hearing some more information on it in the near future.
