Fusion Garage Runs Into Trouble When Refunding Money

While we changed our minds and now we really like the JooJoo tablet, we are still a bit dubious about the company behind it, Fusion Garage. Ever since the company broke ties with TechCrunch, Fusion Garage has encountered a myriad of issues and gotten into different kinds of trouble that jeopardized the release of the JooJoo. For instance, Fusion Garage has been sued, it has violated PayPal’s terms of service [TOS], the company has delayed shipments, and now we learn that it has run into trouble when trying to refund money.
The company apparently asked a customer named Rony, who decided not to get the JooJoo anymore, to provide them with his bank account information. You see, Fusion Garage had encountered an issue when trying to refund money via PayPal, so the company wanted to deposit the refund money directly into the customer’s bank account.
Here’s a letter sent to Rony by Fusion Garage:

Dear Rony,
We have checked this at our end and there seems to be a problem with refunding via paypal.
To avoid any further wait time, could you send us your bank name, bank account name, bank account number, sort or swift code and your bank address.
We will have a direct transfer done to your bank account. If you could provide us the details today, we will ensure that the refund hits your bank account by friday of this week.
Please advise . Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Now, Fusion Garage says that this customer [Rony] in particular changed his mind about getting a refund several times, which we are not sure what that has to do with anything. The company also states that they have encountered the issues with three customers only. The problems were all related to PayPal, who refuses to issue credit long after a pre-order has been placed. Again, this has to do with the company violating the PayPal’s TOS, which state that products must be delivered within 20 days after pre-order. It’s been about 3 months since Fusion Garage started accepting pre-orders for the JooJoo.
