BlackBerry Data Outage Continues – Day 2

We’re learning today that a data outage has been affecting Wi-Fi equipped BlackBerry smartphones only since yesterday. As weird as it might sound, the problem seems to arise when Wi-Fi equipped BlackBerry smartphones are not connected to Wi-Fi. The outage seems to be irregular, affecting different carriers nationwide. It also appears to affect both BES and BIS users.

There’s no official word from Research In Motion as to when the issue will be resolved or what is causing the problem. We have contacted RIM for comment, and will be updating this post as soon as we learn new information regarding this outage.

Let us know if you are experiencing any issues sending/receiving emails, browsing the web, and using BlackBerry Messenger or other data-based applications on your Wi-Fi equipped BlackBerry smartphone.
