Google Sets Up Person Finder for Chile Earthquake Victims

Just hours after a devastating 8.8 magnitude earthquake hit the South American Country of Chile, Google has set up ‘Person Finder: Chile Earthquake,’ an online service that aims to help Chilean citizens find and report missing family members, friends, and people in general.
The service is very simple to use, really. All people have to do is choose “I’m looking for someone” and search by someone by name or part of it, or choose “I have information about someone” and enter a complete name to register on the database. The service is available in English and Spanish. As of this writing, there are 7,900 registered records and counting.
It’s nice to see that Google has been one of the fist tech companies to offer their services for good. We hope and expect more companies from different industries to follow suit.
On behalf of the entire Erictric team, I wish to send our most sincere condolences and sympathy to all the people of Chile and other affected areas.

Thank you soo much, you don’t know what this means when people cannot contact any family and fear the worst. In a moment of desperation this provides relief. Thank you for being the technological humanitarian that Google has become.
I’m looking for co-workers and friends from 1980, working for Ceras Johnson, in Vina del Mar, with Gerald Fox, Jaime Contreras and Marcela Barrera
