Next Android Version To Be Called ‘Gingerbread’

If you’ve been following the collection of names given to Android versions by Google staff, you’ll quickly notice two commonalities. We’ve had Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, and Froyo. First, you’ll notice the names of the versions are all sweets. Second, you’ll also see that each version is in alphabetical order. That would mean that the next version of Android’s name must begin with ‘G’ (to keep with tradition, of course), and must be sweet.
Good thing we have Google employee Brian Swetland, who works on the Android Linux-based kernel. Swetland posted the likely name of Android’s next version as ‘Gingerbread’. Swetland states that the Android team is “finalizing [their] move to 2.6.32 for the Android “Froyo” release, and [they will] likely be on .33 or .34 for ‘Gingerbread’.”
Take your guesses for what the ‘H’ version of Android will stand for!
