WolframAlpha Adds New Specialized Keyboards to Its iPhone App – Still Not Worth The $50 Price

Back in October 18, 2009, WolframAlpha packed all the functionalities of its computational engine into an app for the iPhone. The only problem is that the application was priced at a whopping $50. While the app is said to be great, most people think is $50 too expensive, considering anyone can use the desktop and mobile website for free. Ever since, WolframAlpha has been trying restlessly to get more people to buy the application. Just two months after the app was launched, WolframAlpha got rid of the optimized website for the iPhone/iPod Touch, and lowered the price of the app to $19.99 for the holidays.
Today, WolframAlpha took a new direction by releasing update 1.1. According to the company’s blog, the update brings new features to improve the application. The most prominent feature might be the introduction of four new specialized keyboards: Default, Math, Greek, and Symbol. The new keyboards work in addition to the default one, and are have been “constructed to ease the burden of entering queries.”
The update also brings new graphics and tables and it’s available now in the App Store.
