Facebook Fast Approaching 400 Million Users

Four-hundred million. The figure will soon represent the number of users registered with social networking site Facebook. A post this evening by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg notes that “this week there will be 400 million people on Facebook.”

The information comes on the sixth birthday of the website, and Zuckerberg notes that this time last year, the website had less than half it does currently. No doubt, it’s tremendous growth earning the company millions in all sorts of revenues.

As for tonight, the social networking website will be launching new features, as per Zuckerberg’s post, and the Facebook team will engage in what’s now a tradition at Facebook; a hackathon — an event in which Facebook engineers code anything and everything they wish to come up with new services on the site.
