Google Voice Coming Back to The iPhone in 2010 Courtesy of VoiceCentral

iPhone users, rejoice! Google Voice is making a comeback to the device in early 2010. No, it will not be officially available through the App Store, nor will you need to jailbreak your iPhone to be able to use it. You see, Riverturn is bringing back its third-party Google Voice app, VoiceCentral, as an in-browser application dubbed the Black Swan edition.
VoiceCentral along a few other third-party Google Voice apps was victim of Apple back in July when the Cupertino-based company rejected Google Voice and banished all related third-party applications.
According to Riverturn, the new in-browser version of VoiceCentral will feature:
- Native iPhone look and feel.
- Sync your Google Voice data.
- Automatic and immediate updates.
- Offline access to Google Voice data.
- Listen to Google Voice messages and read transcriptions.
- Swipe to delete calls, voicemails, or SMS conversations.
- Google Contacts import.
- Call using Google Voice or iPhone.
- Uses Mobile Safari HTML5 capabilities.
Unfortunately, the in-browser app will not be able to access you iPhone contact list. You will have to export all contacts to Google Voice yourself, so you can access them. Also, audio will play through the speaker and not the earpiece, which can be resolved by using earphones.
There’s currently no price or a public release date available yet. Although, you can register to get into the limited private beta here. We’ll keep an eye on this for you. In the meantime, feel free to watch the promotional video below.

Two dozen comments and nobody mentions that the *full featured* Google Voice app rejected from the AppStore is available on Cydia, and has been since August.
It’s honestly better than the android version of the app, and has full access to your contacts.
