Apple Event Likely To Occur January 2010

Earlier today, we published a piece noting that a 7-inch Apple tablet would be announced “in January”. Now, we’re getting word via the Silicon Alley Insider that Apple will have some sort of event which may or may not demonstrate the fabled tablet we’ve been talking about for months.
The news comes from a “plugged-in source in the mobile industry,” and Apple has partnered up with several iPhone App developers to prepare specialized applications for the January event. The applications must run at the screen resolution of the tablets themselves (we cannot confirm what that is).
Sadly however (and expected, really), the tablet nor the specialized applications developed for it will not be up for sale in January. Perhaps we may see more developments in approaching the end of June next year, when WWDC 2010 is supposedly occurring.
