Facebook Releases Top Status Trend “Memology” of 2009

Status updates — they’re fun, interesting, and yes — Facebook keeps track of trending terms within them. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to learn that Facebook has released a list, or memology as they’re calling it, of the top 15 words used in status updates this year.
Unusually, the number one spot is occupied by “Facebook applications”. Such games on the social networking site like Farm town, Farmville, and Social Living significantly boost the usage of the phrase. Coming in the number 2 slot is FML — which stands for F My Life (you decide what the F stands for), and it’s exactly what I’m thinking right now.
Religion, of course was a huge talking point, as was Swine Flu (H1N1). We’ll let you take a gander at the other terms — just let us know what you make of it.
