What Children Searched For Most In 2009

If you’re a parent, you certainly might find this next piece interesting. We know that you want to stay on top of your kids, but don’t want to compromise the trust between you and them and even invade their privacy. So the good folks over at Norton have compiled a list of the top 100 searches performed by kids in 2009. As the year draws closed to an end, take a minute and learn about what your children are really doing online.
We’ll first start off by simply showing the top 100 searches, followed by a breakdown of them by gender. After that, by age group. The findings certainly may shock you.

You’ll quickly notice that Microsoft’s Bing decision engine (which we talk very much about here) comes in the 100th place, with YouTube and Google taking the first and second place, respectively. Disturbingly, you’ll also find that our kids are searching for “sex, porn, boobs, and pussy.”
Now, a breakdown by sex:

YouTube and Google remain with the same interest levels between both boys and girls. However, the two genders are still interested in “sex”, with the 5th most popular search queries by boys being “porn”, as opposed to “porn” taking the 24th place for girls.
Finally, a breakdown by age group:

Surprisingly, you’ll find that “porn” is the 4th most searched term for children under the age of 7! The search query “sex” takes 4th place for children aged 8-18.
