Rackspace Hosting Suffers Outage Friday Afternoon

We’re learning via Mashable that Rackspace has suffered an outage which could have potentially taken out thousands of sites. Reports from Rackspace indicate that the outage began at approximately 4:45 PM Eastern, and eventually recovered at 5:13 PM Eatern. Unfortunately, no information is yet available to the public on the outage, with an investigation ongoing as of this writing.

What we can say is that it’s certainly another blow to one of the world’s most popular hosting solutions. Not too long ago, the hosting provider was down due to power issues.
