Fake Steve Jobs Asks Users to Take a Stance Against AT&T

After recent comments by AT&T CEO Ralph de la Vega pretty much blaming the network’s problems on customers, Fake Steve Jobs has decided to do something about it. In a post today on his popular blog “The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs,” Fake Steve is asking all AT&T iPhone users in to take a stance against the nation’s ‘fastest 3G network’ by conducting a digital protest, which he has properly codenamed “Operation Chokehold.”
According to Fake Steve Jobs, “his engineers” have come up and emailed him the following plan:
“Subject: Operation Chokehold
On Friday, December 18, at noon Pacific time, we will attempt to overwhelm the AT&T data network and bring it to its knees. The goal is to have every iPhone user (or as many as we can) turn on a data intensive app and run that app for one solid hour. Send the message to AT&T that we are sick of their substandard network and sick of their abusive comments. The idea is we’ll create a digital flash mob. We’re calling it in Operation Chokehold. Join us and speak truth to power!”
Fake Steve, who apparently has been asked by his engineers to “to serve as a kind of communications director for their efforts,” is asking the public to suggest apps that use the most data. He’s also asking AT&T users to spread the word. It’s not clear how many people are going to take part on this. Also, it’s not certain what kind of consequences this might cause to AT&T’s networks and other customers. If everything goes according to their plan, this might be a lesson that AT&T will not forget.
We are very curious to see what is going to happen.
