Why Jack Dorsey’s Square Will Revolutionize Financial Transactions

Square-Payment-Service-roundThink about it — how many times per day do you see a person making some sort of financial transaction with a piece of plastic? Be it credit or debit (and so forth), consumers are moving further and further away from cash — and that’s just reality. And whilst we have a plethora of applications available on mobile devices to accept card payments from customers — Square truely differs.

You see, most (if not all) card transaction applications require a business merchant account  — something that’s truly a pain in the rear. What sets Square aside? Well, just sign up on their site — and you’re good to go. I mean, how difficult is that? No hassles, no fuss, just plain easy.

Then, of course, you have the matter of accessibility. “How much will the hardware cost?” You’re in luck, because Square is cheaply manufacturing the hardware, which will be distributed free of charge to Square users (the last we were informed, anyway). Better yet, it’s not limited to one device, since it plugs into an audio jack, so payments will be able to be accepted from iPhones, to BlackBerry handsets, to computers.

Any good product out there must be easy to use. Square couldn’t be simpler, and if you’re not familiarized with it, take a look at this article we posted on December 1st. The ability to simply and quickly sign up with Square and begin taking card payments (of course, after you receive the hardware) expediently is revolutionary. You need not be a store, or business — but an ordinary guy (or gal) with an iPhone or other mobile device. If that doesn’t ring success, I don’t know what will.

As we all know, mobile is the future — and Square is without a doubt the future of payments. I am beyond excited for it, as a matter of fact. And of course, we’re looking forward to demonstrating Square at some point ahead, and according to Jack Dorsey, who recently emailed me — we’ll certainly be kept in the loop.
