TechCrunch Files Federal Lawsuit Over CrunchPad

CrunchPad2

TechCrunch’s very own Michael Arrington informs us in a blog post today that a federal lawsuit has finally been filed against Fusion Garage in the Northern District of California Federal court over allegations of “Fraud and Deceit, Misappropriation of Business Ideas, Breach of Fiduciary Duty, Unfair [competition] and [violations] of the Lanham Act.”

Arrington goes on to point out a few of his thoughts, which I have summarize below:

  • TechCrunch’s claims are backed by emails and other evidence, while Fusion Garage has not provided any evidence to back up their claims.
  • Fusion Garage deleted their blog, destroying a lot of evidence that directly contradicts their claims.
  • Fusion Garage is and has always been in a lot of debt, almost to the point of going out of business. TechCrunch has paid a lot of their expenses and offered to acquire the company only after they cleaned up their act, which they never did.
  • Fusion Garage financial situation is bad. It is no right for the press to recommend people to buy the now called JooJoo tablet when it goes on sale today.
  • The entire blueprint of the tablet was created by Arrington himself. The entire Fusion Garage team was brought to California with help from TechCrunch to work with them together.
  • Fusion Garage CEO  Chandrasekar Rathakrishnan is not a good guy, as he has been caught plagiarizing articles. More of his doings have not been reported due to the fact that the Singapore government controls blogs and media.

We all knew a lawsuit was imminent, and now it has been finally been filed. It will be interesting to see how Fusion Garage will respond to it. For more information about the lawsuit, visit the original post by Michael Arrington or view the attached copy of the lawsuit below.
