Android 2.0/Passion to Fall Into 2010?

Verizon Logo

Easily the most anticipated Android device yet, the HTC Passion, which features among other things a 1GHz Snapdragon processor may not make it in time for the holidays. This is a message that portrays the exact opposite of what Verizon’s Passion splash page shows. While Verizon recently put said splash page on their website that showed a more “passionate holiday season”, new reports from DigiTimes and market sources claim that the release won’t in fact happen until early 2010. DigiTimes is mostly spot on than not, but there have been several times when they haven’t been quite as accurate. I would hope that Verizon wouldn’t jump the gun in eager excitement and put up a splash page without first knowing any final details. But I can certainly understand the school girl giggles that are probably escaping Verizon exec’s who are eagerly awaiting the Passion’s release.

A delay of any kind, especially one that causes it to miss the holiday season would be the worst case of holiday sadness for sure. As is customary, take this news with a grain of salt. Just don’t be too upset if this rumor turns out to be true. Might as well shed a tear or two now and get some of that remorse over with. Wouldn’t want to ruin all of the holiday spirit now, would you?
