Verizon and AT&T Drop “There’s a Map For That” Lawsuit

theresamapforthat

It looks like the two major wireless providers, AT&T and Verizon, have finally come to their senses. The two are dropping the lawsuits relating to the now-famous “There’s a map for that” advertisements Verizon put out not long ago. AT&T claimed the ad was misleading, whereas Verizon claimed that it was just the truth — which it was.

It’s a fairly smart move on behalf of AT&T, considering the company likely knew there was no contest, and the lawsuit was filed purely with spite. If anything, the lawsuit just put the public’s focus on AT&T’s 3G coverage even more so than previously.

More as we find out.
