Twitter Co-Founder Shows Off iPhone Payment System, “Square”

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey started a new project under the codename “Squirrel” several months ago. Then a few months ago, the project was revealed to be some type of payment method for the iPhone and iPod Touch called “Square,” which utilizes an app and a tiny card reader plugged to the device. Now, Jack Dorsey and his team have launched the official website at http://squareup.com/. The system is currently still in private beta.

TechCrunch’s MG Siegler caught up with Jack Dorsey at a small San Francisco coffee shop, where Jack Dorsey gave a demonstration of how the system works. MG Siegler managed to catch it on video. See below:
