TabletMac, A New Possible Name for The Apple Tablet?

TabletMac Trademark Transfer

What would you think if the mythical Apple tablet was named “TabletMac”? You see, Apple is listed as the proud owner of the trademark, after it acquired it from Axiotron on November of last year.

In a nutshell, Axiotron is a company that modifies stock MacBooks by basically removing the keyboard, and placing a Wacom pen-based screen in lieu of the original one to convert them into tablets, which were originally sold as “TabletMacs.” Axiotron even filed a trademark for the name, which as mentioned above, it was acquired by Apple afterward. Just in case you’re wondering, Axiotron still sells the modified computers for $699.

It’s really not clear at this moment what Apple is planning to do with the name. Take into account that a great number of rumors have claimed the Apple tablet will run the iPhone OS, and not Mac OS. Still, this could be a clue of what’s to come, considering all the rumors so far have turned out to be unreliable.

By the way, we’d still love to know your answer to the question at the beginning of the article. Let us know in the comments below.
