YouTube Introduces Automatic Captioning

YouTube has offered captioning for quite a while now, but today, YouTube is introducing something a little different — and it’s really cool! Meet “automatic captions,” which you may or may not have guessed does exactly what it sounds like it does.
YouTube will be utilizing Google’s automation speech recognition technologies combined with YouTube’s captioning feature to listen for words in a video, and make captions from it. Such a wonderful idea for our friends and family who may be hearing impaired. Check out the demo below:
In addition to automatic captioning, YouTube is also launching “automatic caption timing,” which is said to “make it significantly easier to create captions manually.”
