We are once again flashing our awesome ‘Rumor Alert’ sign in lieu of the story we just heard. Anyhow, rumor has it that tonight Verizon will be releasing an update for the BlackBerry Tour 9630. Before you start jumping like a maniac, let me tell you that it’s very unlikely it will be OS 5.0. According to CrackBerry, it might turn out to be just OS 4.7.1.61. Hey, something is something.

The update will be available through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager at around 5 PM EST, so it should be appearing in just a little while. If you happen to see it, let us know.

Update: The update was indeed released today. Unfortunately, it was not OS 5.0. Just as predicted, it’s OS 4.7.1.61 the one that it’s available at Verizon’s website or via Desktop Manager.
