Google Celebrates Discovery of Water on Moon

In light of the discovery that water exists on our moon, it appears as if Google has changed their logo to commemorate the breaking discovery.
What’s unusual about this Google doodle is that fact that it has appeared midday. Very rarely (if at all) Google has changed their logo midday in light of a historic event. Certainly something we’re not accustomed to seeing, as Google users.
The news of water on the Moon comes just hours ago from NASA, and already Google has been able to create and post their logo — a procedure which takes normally two days, according to our past interview with Michael Lopez, the web design lead for Google.
What do you think? Is this a start to new Google Doodle customs?

Thank-you GOOGLE for giving us instant access to this wonderful universe of ours.
Its, seems taht human being stay at moon for long time.
Thanks to Google, for this……….
I really enjoy seeing Google’s new logo designs everyday or week! Everytime I see something different…I just wanna click on the logo and find out what’s happening…Psychology 101. I would love to see what’s next. Keep up the awesome work!
Damn if theres water that means there could be life badass thanks for keeping us posted google
The moon controls the 4 seasons and the tides of the sea. Do you imagine what’s going to happen on earth by doing this experiment? Just let me give you two things: The third part of the ice at the two poles will be melt, because of the hot temperature. Second If the moon stops for three seconds two of our seasons disappears, just like that. Thanks Google.
I’ve got some bad news & that water was discovered on the moon 19 years ago. They sent that rocket up there to see how deep it was.
google haveit’s cool
Thanks, Google, I feel v.happy when see google logo changed with occasions, that gives more data, and takes our attention to notice the occasion and what it is going on, Thank you google.
It’s great to discover water on the moon, even that does not indicates a life on its surface, because it’s too cold, or too hot, no atmosphere, big variance between day temp. and night’s.
Thank you Google
After teaching middle school science students for years that there is no water on the Moon, I am only too happy to apologize for my error! I commend Google’s acknowlegement of this somewhat wet neighbor of ours. Let’s hope this heralds the resumption of lunar visits and more astounding discovery!!!!
oh GooGle U R Gr8….
Why is NASA really seeking water on the Moon?

Excellent job Google! I always love to see the historical and scientific images and breakthroughs that you promote! Excellent job on timing and keep up the good work!
Water on the moon? What we want is water on the Earth – so many people are struggling for what some of us regard as an everyday commodity.
I belived Google might have already prepared with this logo, as India has already discovered Water on Moon last month itself.

Thank you google to give us a most important news. In this news google has proved once again that they always ready to invent some special news for human civilization.
That’s very good that water’s discovered on moon.
really itz fantastic…………all da bst………..
i wonder how the water came in the moon and anyways shouldn’t it flought in the universe?
Thanks Google for this Moon Logo.
I think it’s great that Google has commemorated this event. It is truly historical and will probably prove to be the most significant advancement in space exploration of the past several decades.
What is particularly interesting is that Google chose to commemorate breaking news. I believe this is the first time Google has incorporated a current event into its logo.
And as for the significance of the discovery, well I am filled with excitement at the prospect we could use the water on the moon to generate a habitable environment on the moon. I don’t mean just a contained environment inside a colony, although that’s definitely more possible now. What I’m referring to is the possibility of somehow “seeding” the surface of the moon to create a vapor layer (atmosphere) that would insulate the surface and gradually build and accumulate to the point where it retained heat and allowed melting ice to contribute to the atmosphere.
It might take centuries to accomplish (or longer), but the scientific prospects are fascinating and irresistible.
I’ve started a website to begin collecting thoughts and ideas about “Greening the Moon.” If you’re excited about this too, spread the word and share your thoughts: http://www.jumpstartthemoon.com/
