Windows Mobile Marketplace Goes Online

WinMo Marketplace Online

Microsoft announced yesterday on the Windows Mobile Developer Blog that they have launched a version of its Marketplace for Windows Mobile online. Now WinMo users will have the chance to browse, purchase and download applications from the comfort of their computer browsers by just visiting Windows Phone website. Applications bought online will be sent wirelessly to the WinMo handset and they will be installed as soon as Windows Marketplace is opened.

Microsoft joins the list of companies such as Apple, Research In Motion, and Palm, which have online versions of their app stores.

Microsoft also said that the Windows Marketplace for Mobile will be extended to WinMo 6.0 and 6.1 later this month.
