Now You Can Use Twitter En Español

Twitter Homepage Espanol

Last month Twitter asked volunteers to help translate the site into other languages. Today, Twitter released the service in what is perhaps one of the coolest and most spoken languages in the world: Español [that means Spanish, in case you didn't know]. Spanish becomes the third supported language on Twitter after English and Japanese.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone gracefully wrote an entire blog post in Spanish to announce the launch of the new supported language. Seeing as how a lot of you won’t be able to understand a thing, I’ve decided to put my abilities as a native Spanish speaker and translate the whole thing for you. Here it is:

What are you doing?

At the beginning of the month we invited a few volunteers to translate Twitter into more languages. Thanks to these enthusiastic Spanish speaking volunteers, Twitter is now officially available in Spanish. You can change the  language in settings or you can go to Twitter.com and change the language setting in the option situated in the bottom right corner.

Some Spanish speaking users like Pepe Aguilar (@PepeAguilar), Manu Ginobili (@manuginobili), José Hernández (@Astro_Jose), Andreu Buenafuente (@buenafuente), Juan Fonseca (@FONSECA) y La Moncloa en España (@desdelamoncloa) had discovered the value of Twitter even before we launched this translated version. We hope that offering Twitter in Spanish means more people are able to access and enjoy the service.

Welcome!

There you have it. And no, I did not use Google Translate or any other translator. I translated the whole thing myself.
