Bing Mobile App Pushed to First Generation BlackBerry Storm

A couple of days ago, we reported that Microsoft released an update for Bing Mobile. In the article I criticized how unfortunate it was that the BlackBerry Storm 9530 was not included in a list of supported touchscreen devices. Then, someone left the following comment:
“Look for a full Bing mobile app on your Storm 1 shortly. :)”
Well, it seems that he was right. Today, right after I reset my first generation BlackBerry Storm, I noticed that a Bing icon appeared. When I click it, it opens the BlackBerry browser and it tells me an error ocurred [see image below]. Usually, that error is displayed when an incorrect web address is typed. I tried resetting my phone again, but that didn’t seem to work.

I’ll keep trying to see if it works, and we’ll let you know when/if we finally get it to function. In the meantime, has the Bing Mobile app appeared on your first generation BlackBerry Storm? If it has, is it working correctly?
Update: It is now finally working for me. I have to say it’s a pretty cool mobile browser. Just like the desktop it uses a photo as the background. My only criticism is you can’t use it in landscape mode.

I have no problem with the bing working on my BlackBerry Storm Generation 1. It appeared when I rebooted my phone, and I was able to go right to the site.
Thanks
this worked fine for my BB Storm this morning. Bing is installed and I’m already using this.
Mine is not working. I have the updated 5.0 software. Do you?
@Deaton: I do, and it’s not working for me.
i have 5.0…..the day i first saw it it worked which was 2 days ago….now it doesnt work
I’m getting the same error message
My only comment is: “for more go to MSN.com!”
My only comment is: “for more go to MSN.com!” bing mobile is just a come-on to push traffic to the ads on MSN. The site gives you ONLY PARTof what you are looking for with the note “for more go to MSN.com!”
They should call it Bling not bing; Flash not sustenance.
I installed it and find it very unfortunate that you can not type in landscape mode. This phone is horrible for narrow keyboard typing. This app will be useless until they fix this problem.
Doesn’t work on BB Storm 5.0 .
It seems to lock-up phone whenever
I press Bing icon.
Deleted it and phone works OK.
Bing app sucks. It is poorly designed and I wish I had a Google search client on my phone. Ready to switch to iPhone?
I did not ASK for bing to be put on my phone. It’s MY FU&^ING PHONE, Verizon, let me CHOOSE if I want this peice of crap installed on my phone or not. bastards.
