Google Social Search is Now Live

Last week at the Web 2.0 Summit, Google’s Vice President of Search Products and User Experience, Marissa Mayer, announced and unveiled a new social experiment in Google Labs properly named Social Search. Today, the service goes live.
In a nutshell, Social Search basically gathers information from your favorite friends’ social networking websites and displays the results at bottom of Google’s Search Index. Amongst those social networking websites are Twitter, Picasa, Flickr, Blogger, FriendFeed, et cetera. Once you create a Google account [if you don't have one], it will be required that you and your friends link to all the social services you use.
At this point, Google Social Search will be opt-in only and will just be available for a few certain searches. To join the Google Social Search experiment go to www.google.com/experimental.
