Samsung Blue Earth Phone to Launch First in Sweden This Month

Samsung Blue Earth

Remember the Samsung Blue Earth phone? Yes, the eco-friendly solar powered touchscreen phone made by Samsung. Well, Samsung officially announced today that the device will be first released in Sweden this month. France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal, and other European and Asian countries are expected to follow thereafter. Unfortunately, the US was not mentioned at all, which makes us think we won’t be seeing the device any time soon or for that matter, ever.

Just like other eco-friendly phones, Blue Earth is made from recycled materials, doesn’t contain harmful chemicals, and comes in a compact box made from recycled paper and printed with soy-based inks. The packaging actually suggests a DIY way to turn it into a photo frame or pencil box.

The price was not announced.
