“Most, If Not All” of The Lost Sidekick Data Recovered

Happy Sidekick

T-Mobile issued an statement on behalf of Microsoft today at 1:00 AM. The statement directed to all the Sidekick outage victims tells them that they [Microsoft/Danger] have “recovered most, if not all, customer data” that was lost last week during the Sidekick outage caused by a “system failure.” Even though the three parties involved have apologized before, they took the opportunity to apologize once again.

Sidekick users who lost their data can expect to see their data appearing gradually, starting with contacts. Microsoft and T-Mobile actually believe there was only a “minority of Sidekick users” affected, although, no figures were released. It is advised that everyone who was affected visit the T-Mobile “forums for the latest updates about when data restoration will begin, and any steps you may need to take.”

Microsoft goes on to say that the necessary steps have been taken to ensure this kind of incident does not happen again. They have learned their lesson and have started a more flexible backup process to make sure that their database backups stability is maintained.
