YouTube Is Down For Maintenance!

Well here’s something we thought we’d never see during high noon. Apparently, YouTube is down for maintenance. According to the message, the site should, “be back shortly.” So if you’re seeing this where you are, you’re most certainly not the only one.
From what we can see, the homepage loads fine, but any attempt to load a video will bring up the error message.
We don’t really like to speculate, but could we be seeing some new features? Or is YouTube simply just having problems? We’ll keep following this.
Update: Looks as if all is back to normal.
Update 2:00 PM: Looks like the error is back.
Update 2:10 PM: And we’re back.
Let’s just say this will probably happen a few more times. We’ve reached out to our press contacts at YouTube for some sort of explanation.

Still down till now its now 2:38 pm eastern!!!
And on a Saturday, one of the only days I use Youtube the most. Was going to show my friend some videos, and all I get to show her is the maintenance screen. Bleh.
It’s working intermittently, right now I can watch videos. Hopefully it won’t last forever.

Here in NY YouTube has been down for 2 days. page does not load and gives me error about Proxy Server.
Iteresting the videos seem to work no problem and so do direct links to the videos. You can view peoples channels as well. Ive noticed that when you go to log in or browse the main youtube page that it seems to display that message. It could be a video got uploaded by a user that caused the server to go down or a video might of been uploaded that got more hits and traffic which overloaded the server.
Whatever it is it seems to be down to the server or some kind of upload issue.
