Squarespace Launches New Importing Tool

Squarespace LogoSquarespace, one of the many blogging platforms in the cloud, launched a new and improved importing tool on Monday that will sure grab the attention of many bloggers. This new tool will allow users to transfer previous blog posts, comments, authors and categories from their old supported blog publishing service like WordPress, Blogger, TypePad and Movable Type to the user’s new Squarespace account. Users will even be able to import their old media, thanks to Squarespace’s direct work with Amazon S3.

Best of all, Squarespace will use the URL structure from the user’s former site to create a mapping of all the old blogs with the user’s custom domains. This will definitely attract bloggers who for a while have been wanting to switch to Squarespace.

Anthony Casanela, the founder of Squarespace, said a Squarespace application for the iPhone was submitted 2 weeks ago and it’s currently waiting for approval [good luck with that!].
