Facebook Also Affected By DDoS Attack This Morning

While, everyone was focused on Twitter’s distributed denial-of-service attack this morning, Facebook was also dealing with a DDoS attack of their own. Facebook spokeswoman Kathleen Loughlin confirmed the attack:
“Earlier this morning, Facebook encountered network issues related to an apparent distributed denial-of-service attack, that resulted in degraded service for some users. No user data was at risk and we have restored full access to the site for most users. We’re continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that users have the fast and reliable experience they’ve come to expect from Facebook.”
The good news is that Facebook was more resilient to the attack than Twitter, as there weren’t too many users affected by it. This does prove something though, someone out there does not like Twitter nor Facebook.
