4chan.org, home of perhaps the most popular image boards and message boards on the internet has posted today that AT&T has blocked img.4chan.org:
It’s come to our attention that AT&T is filtering/blocking img.4chan.org (/b/ & /r9k/) for many of their customers. There is no remedy at this time.
If you’ve been affected, I would advise you call or write customer support and corporate immediately.
While there isn’t any official word from AT&T on this matter (yet), it’s safe to say they should be prepared to receive plenty of backlash from angry customers.
More on this as information becomes available.
UPDATE: Looks like access to 4chan may have been restored by AT&T.

this is a step in the wrong direction for net neutrality and should be treated as an attack on the internet and its users.
AT&T, the Christofascist corporation that hands the Bush regime their customer’s calling records, emails, and web histories without subopena, without court order, without warrants.
That AT&T, the Christofascist company that has now decided what web sites their customers may visit and which web sites their customers may not.
Let’s hope that the Channers drag AT&T out in to the streets and make ‘em walk the plank and DIAF without chocolate marble caek.

Last time I checked, I don’t pay AT@T to block websites, I pay them for access to the internet. Not only do I feel like I’m being cheated on, but I also find forced censorship of any sort immoral and wrong.
If this doesn’t change within the next few days, I WILL change me service provider.

I dont get it… I have an iPhone, and I can get to /b/ just fine without a wifi connection.
It was apparently only blocked on the actual internet service AT&T provides to households/businesses, not the mobile service.
And once again, it NEVER fails with the incessant lying, as lying is a way of life for these hacker creeps. I salute AT&T for blocking viruses, trojans and nasty spider scripts, as that is what the REAL truth is as to WHY AT&T has flashed the middle finger [blocked] to 4 Chan. Why should AT&T waste time and energy in dealing with viruses, trojans and uncontrollable script programs emanating from the 4 Chan site?
I don’t condone censorship and I certainly don’t condone lies “in the name of lulz”. The only thing 4 Chan has proven again and again, is that they are infantile and violent. A bunch of two year olds who go on tirades. And just like an out of control two year old, they need some REAL hard slaps from the school of hard knocks.
Any consequences or denial of internet access to AT&T customers due to NAZI actions emanating from 4 Chan [or any other hacker creeps for that matter], I pray that they are caught, rounded up, prosecuted beyond the extent of the law, thrown in a windowless cell and locked up forever until the day they die.
I commend AT&T for taking the step forward and I sincerely hope that other ISP’S follow suit ASAP. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Hackers cause destruction, chaos, waste everyones time and energy. Normal people on the net are SICK AND TIRED of these two year old tantrum antics that 4 Chan displays on a daily basis. These hacker creeps really and truly need to GROW THE F*** UP.
