At Last, Skype Reveals “Super-Secret Project”: A Headset

Skype has been working on a “super-secret project” with FREETALK: a headset, which was revealed yesterday by Skype itself. The FREETALK Everyman USB Headset can be purchased at the Skype Shop for only US$22.88. Best thing is that it offers great sound quality thanks to super wideband audio. It’s ultra portable, it folds flat and it’s lightweight, so you can carry it anywhere. Just like the name suggests, it connects via USB port. It is designed to work perfectly with Skype. And the price is not so bad considering good quality headsets are way more expensive.

They sure have taken some shortcuts on this one. Feels very cheap and vital things are taken out of it. There is no volume control or mute button, for example. If someone screams in my ear I have to fiddle with the software in order to lower or mute the volume: I might get deaf in the process. I can´t believe a company like Skype has made a mistake as big and dangerous as this.
